Ladder 58 Assists Station 36 For A Extrication Off A Roof

On July 22, 2009 Ladder 58 was dispatched to Assist Station 36 (Scott Twp.) for a man who fell 20 feet from the gym roof to the main roof of the Lakeland High School. Upon the arrival of the Ladder it was decided to use the tip of the aerial device via 58's stokes basket since the roof had no parapet. The patient was placed in the stokes by EMS and then placed onto the aerial device and secured down by rope from the aerial device to the stokes basket. A member of Station 36 stayed with the patient as he was lowered down by the aerial device. This made the extrication the fastest and the safest for the patient.
